Job summary

The Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Ilkley is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs. This part-time role runs 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.45 - 11:45am, during term time plus one extra day.

Experience with SEND is desirable but not essential, and numeracy and literacy skills grade 4 or above are preferred. You will work under the direction of the class teacher to support pupil access to the curriculum, communicate with pupils and staff, and

• Salary NJC Grade A1/B1, Scale Points 3 - 6, £25,614 - £26,846 per annum
• Actual Salary £8,752 - £9,173 per annum

The Governors are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Teaching Assistant to join our Catholic primary school at Sacred Heart, Ilkley. We are looking for someone to provide support to children with additional needs. Experience is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has numeracy and literacy skills grade 4 or above (or equivalent level) and who is:

• Caring, patient and intuitive to the needs of the child to enable them to access the curriculum as designated by the teacher
• Able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff
• Flexible in approach and able to adapt to working with both groups and individual pupils
• Willing to help with activities both in the classroom and across the school
• Professional, responsible and aware of the need to maintain confidentiality
• Supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school
