Job summary

The Holgate Academy is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupil development and assist the Foundation Learning Lead across the curriculum. You will help students access the secondary curriculum and work as part of a dedicated team to raise achievement while promoting holistic development.

Experience with SEND and strong numeracy/literacy skills are essential, with GCSEs at grade C or above. A flexible, collaborative approach is expected within our diverse academy community.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience with knowledge of the national curriculum.
• GCSE English and maths at C or above.
• Experience of working with young people with SEN and/or disabilities.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Foundation Learning Lead and teaching staff to support holistic pupil development.
• Provide specialist support to teachers across the curriculum.

Job description

The purpose of this post is to work with the Foundation Learning Lead and teaching staff to support the holistic development of pupils, providing specialist support to the teacher in any aspect of the curriculum.

  Work alongside the Foundational Learning Lead to support students to better access the secondary curriculum
• Have high expectations of themselves and the ability to instill these in staff and students alike

• Be invested in enabling student progress, whilst also developing the students holistically

Essential

• NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience together with a working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
• GCSE English and maths at C (or above) Grade (or equivalent)
• Experience of working with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills

Desirable

• Relevant information, communication and technology qualification e.g. ECDL etc.
• HLTA status - Or working towards

The Holgate Academy is a based on the outskirts of Nottingham within the distinct community of Hucknall. We have around 1250 students aged 11-18. The Academy is part of the Diverse Academies Trust.
