Job summary

The Holgate Academy is based on the outskirts of Nottingham within the distinct community of Hucknall. We have around 1250 students aged 11-18.

The Academy is part of the Diverse Academies Trust. The Academy prides itself on working as a key partner within the Trust, but also on working with partners beyond the Trust, to ensure that we are constantly striving to research and craft the best quality education experience which works for our students in our context.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience together with a working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
  • GCSE English and maths at C (or above) Grade (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Foundation Learning Lead and teaching staff to deliver the curriculum to pupils.
  • Assist pupils to better access the secondary curriculum and develop holistically.
  • Be a committed team player and uphold high expectations for students and staff.

Education

GCSE English and maths at C (or above) Grade (or equivalent)
Experience of working with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities

The purpose of this post is to work with the Foundation Learning Lead and teaching staff to support the holistic development of pupils, providing specialist support to the teacher in any aspect of the curriculum.

Essential

Desirable
  • Relevant information, communication and technology qualification e.g. ECDL etc.
