Teaching Assistant & One to One Classroom Support - Harrogate & surrounding areas
Potential for Permanent Placement & Family-Friendly Hours (Pay is based on qualifications & experience)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with academic, personal, and social development in specialised settings located in and around Harrogate. This role is both challenging and rewarding, requiring a reflexive approach to learners and their needs, as well as a creative and proactive mindset. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar environment and possess emotional resilience and the ability to engage students who may have had negative experiences with education.
Responsibilities would normally include:
• Assisting in small class groups or providing individual support to help students access the curriculum
• Adapting learning methods to increase engagement and interaction
• Providing emotional support when needed
• Encouraging appropriate social interactions and participating in enrichment activities, such as trips
• Maintaining professional standards at all times
The ideal person will:
• Have experience in a similar environment or working with young people who may present challenging behaviours
• Possess resilience, patience, compassion, and understanding
• Be proactive, creative, and empathetic
• Be able to follow detailed behaviour support plans (BSPs) and individual learning plans (ILPs)
• Adhere to the school's policies and practises
• Ideally, be Team Teach trained (training offered by our in-house trainers)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
