Role Overview:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Year 8 student, providing personalised support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You’ll assist with classwork, help build confidence, and promote independence, ensuring they feel fully integrated within the classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support for the Year 8 student in their academic work, ensuring they can access and engage with the curriculum.
• Assist with emotional, social, and behavioural needs to help the student build self-confidence and resilience.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement individualised learning strategies and monitor progress.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Ensure the student is fully supported during lessons, working both in and outside the classroom.

What We Are Looking For:

• Previous experience working with students in a 1:1 capacity, particularly in secondary education, is desirable.
• Passion for supporting students with additional learning needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young learners.
• A patient, empathetic approach to learning support.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents to achieve the best outcomes for the student.

Qualifications:

• Ideally, a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) though not essential.
• GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) are preferred.
