Job summary

Balfor Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming primary school in Warrington. This short-term supply role offers 8:30am–3:30pm hours with a daily rate of £90–£105 depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will have classroom experience, strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach to helping children develop confidence and independence. A Level 2/3 TA qualification and an enhanced DBS are desirable.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to pupils’ needs.
  • A caring, patient and positive attitude when supporting learners.
  • Experience in a school setting is beneficial and desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about supporting children in their educational journey. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom environment.
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
  • Delivering one-to-one and small-group support where required.
  • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence and independence.
  • Supporting children with varying learning abilities and needs.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Have previous experience working within a school environment.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate a caring, patient and positive attitude.
  • Be confident supporting pupils with different learning needs.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
Requirements
  • A minimum of six months’ experience working within a UK educational setting.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Recent education-based references.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
