Job summary

Folly View Primary is seeking two caring Teaching Assistants to join our team. You will work closely with teachers to support pupils in their learning, helping them thrive academically and personally in a positive, inclusive environment.

You will provide individual and small-group support, assist with lesson activities, monitor progress and help implement education and safeguarding practices. A Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience is desirable, and a commitment to ongoing

  • Has experience working with or caring for children.
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
  • Works effectively as part of a team.
  • Understands safeguarding and inclusion.
  • Is willing to learn and engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Has knowledge of child development and learning strategies (desirable).
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in the classroom and during learning activities.
  • Provide individual and small-group support, including for pupils with additional needs.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Assist with the implementation of education, behaviour and personal care plans.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment.

  • Assist with educational visits, lunchtime supervision and other school activities as required.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide high-quality classroom support, ensuring all pupils can access learning opportunities and achieve success.

The Role
