Job summary

St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. You will assist in the educational, personal and social development of children under guidance, with a focus on Early Years and SEN support.

The successful candidate will work term-time, 8.35am to 3.20pm, Monday to Friday, in a caring environment that values collaboration and the Church of England ethos. Training and development opportunities are provided.

• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Passionate about working with Early Years children including SEN.

• Work well as part of a caring team, under the direction of a Class Teacher.
• Recognise the varying needs of individual learners and adjust tasks accordingly.

• Has a rich knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and how pupils learn.
• Is eager to expand their knowledge, skills and understanding of teaching practices.
• Has experience of working within an Early Years environment.
• Has experience of setting up and managing groups of pupils during focused learning activities.
• Has experience in supporting teaching and learning for groups of pupils.
• Secure high quality relationships with parents, carers and the wider community.
• Bring creativity and enthusiasm to each and every new day.

As a Teaching Assistant, you play a crucial role in aiding students on their educational journey. Cultivating various strategies to meet each student's unique needs is essential.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant - to assist in the educational, personal, and social development of children under the direction and guidance of relevant colleagues (e.g. the Headteacher, Early Years phase lead, SENCo and Class Teacher).

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with children in an educational setting

• Be passionate about working with Early Years children including SEN children and on a 1:1 basis when required

• Be flexible, proactive and patient

• Be able to communicate effectively within a team

• Work well as part of a caring team, under the direction of a Class Teacher.

The role would be term time from 8.35am - 3.20pm, Monday to Friday, totalling 33.75 hours a week. This is a permanent contract.
