Job summary

TipTopJob is recruiting for Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS to KS2 in Eye and surrounding areas of Mid Suffolk and South Norfolk. We offer day-to-day classroom cover or long-term placements, with opportunities across multiple schools.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children in educational, childcare, nursery, or community settings.
• Warm, patient, and encouraging approach with strong communication skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy standards (GCSE Grade C/4 in English and Maths preferred).
• Adaptable, proactive attitude with ability to work in different primary classrooms.
• Enhanced DBS checked or willing to complete one.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to class teachers in preparing resources, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Work 1:1 or in small groups of pupils to reinforce literacy, numeracy, and core curriculum tasks.
• Help children build confidence, focus, and social skills, offering gentle guidance and encouragement.
• Assist pupils with SEND by tailoring learning activities to suit individual learning styles.
• Support classroom management and encourage positive behaviour in line with school policies.
• Assist with supervision during break times, lunchtimes, and school trips as needed.

What We Look For

• Previous experience supporting children in an educational, childcare, nursery, or community setting.
• A warm, patient, and encouraging approach with strong communication skills.
• Good standards of literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths preferred).
• An adaptable, proactive attitude with the ability to step into different primary classrooms with confidence.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
