Simply Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Clacton-on-Sea to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately after the October half term.
This is a full-time position working five days per week. You will be supporting pupils across the school, including children who display challenging behaviour, so previous experience managing behavioural needs is essential. Experience gained within a school, SEND setting, alternative provision or another relevant education and training environment would be highly beneficial.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to help pupils access learning, remain engaged in lessons and make positive academic, social and emotional progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
The successful candidate must have previous experience working with children who display challenging behaviour. You should be confident managing difficult situations while remaining calm, patient and consistent.
Previous experience within education and training is highly desirable, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils. Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, ASD or ADHD would also be advantageous.
