Simply Education is working in partnership with a supportive primary school in Clacton-on-Sea to recruit an experienced Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately after the October half-term.
This is a full-time position working five days per week, supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour and require additional guidance to successfully access their learning. Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviour is essential, whether gained within a school, alternative provision, SEND setting or another relevant education and training environment.
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to provide targeted support to pupils who may experience social, emotional or behavioural difficulties.
The successful candidate must have previous experience supporting children or young people who display challenging behaviour. You should be calm, resilient and confident when responding to difficult situations while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
Experience within education and training, SEND, SEMH, alternative provision or a similar setting would be highly beneficial. Knowledge of behaviour-management techniques, emotional regulation and de-escalation strategies would also be advantageous.
This position would suit someone who is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and understands that challenging behaviour can often be a form of communication.
