Job summary

Prospero Teaching is partnering with schools in the Bournemouth area to recruit compassionate Teaching Assistants to support children with Autism and additional learning needs on a one-to-one basis. Experienced TAs and those seeking to develop a career in SEND education are encouraged to apply.

The role is long term, full time, based in Bournemouth, with a start date ASAP and hours 8:00am–3:30pm. Compensation starts at 140 per day, with the chance to gain CPD through Prospero’s in-house team.

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS/PGCE/EYTS/NVQ/Cache or equivalent qualifications.
• UK school experience in SEND/ASD.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to children with ASD and complex learning needs.
• Assist with learning activities and behaviour management under guidance.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to support individual targets.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYTS, NVQ, Cache or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Experience working with SEND students, particularly those with ASD
• A genuine interest in supporting children with ASD and complex learning needs
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training for this can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional, child-related references
