Job summary

Prospero Teaching are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support autistic children on a 1:1 basis in a Bournemouth school. This role is long term and full-time, with a start ASAP and daily rate of at least £140.

Applicants should have UK school experience, SEND/ASD background, and up-to-date safeguarding training. DBS with update service or willing to apply is required along with two professional references.

Qualifications

• QTS/QLTS/PGCE or equivalent required.
• Experience working in a UK school.
• Experience working with SEND students, esp. ASD.
• Recent safeguarding training within last year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support autistic pupils on a 1:1 basis.
• Follow school SEND plans and adapt activities.
• Assist with safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• Support classroom learning and behaviour management.

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work with autistic children in a fantastic school located in the Bournemouth area.

We work in partnership with schools across the Bournemouth area who require compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistants with experience supporting children with Autism and additional learning needs on a one-to-one basis.

Experienced Teaching Assistants, as well as candidates looking to develop their career within SEND education, are always welcome to apply.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYTS, NVQ, Cache or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Experience working with SEND students, particularly those with ASD
• A genuine interest in supporting children with ASD and complex learning needs
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training for this can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional, child-related references
