Job summary

Prospero Teaching is partnering with Bournemouth area schools to recruit compassionate Teaching Assistants for one-to-one support of children with Autism and learning needs. Start ASAP for full-time, long-term positions.

Role focuses on SEND education with ASD; eligibility requires Right to Work in the UK, DBS, and references. Training and development opportunities are provided by Prospero Teaching.

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYTS, NVQ, Cache or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a UK school.
• Experience working with SEND students, particularly those with ASD.
• A genuine interest in supporting children with ASD and complex learning needs.
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable but training can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Support children with ASD and other learning needs on a one-to-one basis in a school setting.
• Assist teaching staff in delivering bespoke SEND support within the classroom.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare of children as required.

We work in partnership with schools across the Bournemouth area who require compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistants with experience supporting children with Autism and additional learning needs on a one-to-one basis.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location - Bournemouth

Position - SEND Teaching Assistant

Start date - ASAP

Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing

Contract type - Long term

Full time/part time - Full time

Minimum rate of pay - £140 per day (approx.)

Hours - 8:00am - 3.30pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYTS, NVQ, Cache or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Experience working with SEND students, particularly those with ASD
• A genuine interest in supporting children with ASD and complex learning needs
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential as training for this can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional, child-related references

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy.

Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
