Job description

SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Outskirts of Nottingham
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: 90 - 120 per day

Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school on the outskirts of Nottingham. We're looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025.



About the Role:

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping pupils aged 5-16 overcome emotional and behavioural challenges so they can thrive in education and beyond.

You'll be:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to students' individual needs

  • Helping deliver engaging interventions focused on emotional wellbeing and behaviour

  • Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff to build a safe, positive environment

  • Supporting students to build confidence, resilience, and self-regulation skills



Who We're Looking For:

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs

  • A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach to managing behaviour

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A desire to genuinely make a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
