Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking five Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming Darwen school. You will support pupils aged 11-18, help them engage with lessons, and promote positive behaviour in a nurturing environment.

This full-time, temporary role runs until July 2027, with immediate start. Ideal for graduates or those with UK school experience, offering valuable classroom exposure and opportunities to develop within education.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a 2:2 degree or above.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable.
• Experience working with young people through coaching, mentoring, tutoring, youth work, or sports.
• Experience in a UK school is desirable.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training within the last 12 months is desirable.

Teaching Assistant
FULL TIME, UNTIL JULY 2027 STARTING IMMEDIATELY

We are working with a welcoming and supportive school in Darwen that is looking to appoint five Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and support students aged 11-18 in achieving their full potential. The successful candidates will play a key role in helping pupils engage with their learning, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.

Contract/Position Details

• - Position: Teaching Assistant


• - Type of Work: Long-term classroom support

• - Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP100 per day


• - Hours: 8:30am 4:00pm

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• - Recent Graduate with a 2:2 degree or above, or


• - Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, or


• - Experience working with young people through coaching, mentoring, tutoring, youth work, sports, or similar settings


• - Previous experience working within a UK school is desirable


• - Up-to-date Safeguarding Training issued within the last 12 months (desirable)

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

• - Hold the Right to Work in the UK


• - Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application


• - Provide two professional references related to working with children or young people
