Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking five Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming Darwen school. You will support pupils aged 11-18, help them engage with lessons, and promote positive behaviour in a nurturing environment.

This full-time, temporary role runs until July 2027, with immediate start. Ideal for graduates or those with UK school experience, offering valuable classroom exposure and opportunities to develop within education.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a 2:2 degree or above.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable.
• Experience working with young people through coaching, mentoring, tutoring, youth work, or sports.
• Experience in a UK school is desirable.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training within the last 12 months is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils aged 11-18 in their learning to help them engage with lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive school environment.
• Assist teachers in classroom activities and learning, and help manage the learning space.
• Support with classroom routines and student wellbeing as part of a nurturing team.
