Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to provide flexible classroom support across Derby and surrounding areas. roles include day-to-day supply, short-term cover and longer-term placements across Key Stages 1 and 2.

You will support pupils, work with individuals and groups, and deliver interventions prepared by teachers. Ideal candidates have experience with the UK Curriculum, a patient, proactive attitude, and the ability to build strong pupil relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience working with the UK Curriculum.
• Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
• Flexibility and confidence working in different schools.
• SEND experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Hold an enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Understand safeguarding concepts and be willing to undertake CPD training.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities.

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

• Helping pupils develop their confidence and independence
• Preparing classroom resources

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

• Have experience working with the UK Curriculum
• Be enthusiastic about supporting children s learning
• Have a positive, patient and proactive attitude
• Be able to build strong relationships with pupils
• Be flexible and confident working in different schools
• Have SEND experience, although this is not essential
• Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
• Understand safeguarding, Benedict's Law and the Prevent Duty, or be willing to undertake relevant CPD training
