Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support a variety of outstanding primary schools across Nottingham and surrounding areas. You will work across KS1 and KS2, assisting with lessons and helping pupils develop confidence in a nurturing environment.

Role offers flexible days—occasional, regular weekly work or longer-term placements—backed by a dedicated consultant and access to CPD courses to support your professional development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting the UK curriculum.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confident to work across different schools and year groups.
• Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across KS1 and KS2.

Role Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2
• Working with children individually and in small groups
• Assisting teachers with lessons and classroom activities
• Supporting pupils with additional needs as required
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and engagement
• Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
• Adhering to school safeguarding, allergy and medical procedures

Person Specification

• Previous experience supporting the UK curriculum
• A genuine passion for working with children
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
• Awareness of Benedict s Law and the importance of allergy safety
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence to work across different schools and year groups
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
