Randstad UK is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Early Years to Key Stage 2 across Reedham, Broadland, and East Norfolk. Roles range from day-to-day classroom cover to longer fixed-term placements, offering variety and steady opportunities.

Ideal candidates have prior experience in educational settings, a warm, patient approach, and the ability to support literacy, numeracy, and SEND needs. DBS checks and positive engagement with schools are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in educational, childcare, nursery, or community settings.
• Strong communication skills with a warm and encouraging approach.
• Good literacy and numeracy standards; GCSE English/Maths preferred (C/4 or equivalent).
• Adaptability to move between different primary classrooms and age groups.
• Ability to follow school policies and support SEND pupils as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers with resources, activities, and a positive learning environment.
• Work 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce literacy, numeracy and core subjects.
• Help children build confidence, focus, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom management and encourage positive behaviour in line with school policies.

• Assist with supervision during break times, lunchtimes, and school trips as needed.

What We Look For:

• Previous experience supporting children in an educational, childcare, nursery, or community setting.

• A warm, patient, and encouraging approach with strong communication skills.

• Good standards of literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths preferred).

• An adaptable, proactive attitude with the ability to step into different primary classrooms with confidence.

• A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
