Job summary

Randstad Education is actively recruiting Primary Teaching Assistants to support schools near Rushden and the North Northamptonshire area. Choose day-to-day cover for total weekly schedule control or opt for longer-term placements within a single school community.

You will assist teachers with resources, work with pupils in small groups or individually, support SEND learners, and help maintain a positive learning environment across Early Years to Key Stage 2. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in educational, childcare, nursery, or community settings.
• Good literacy and numeracy standards (GCSE C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths preferred).
• Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers in preparing resources and managing activities.
• Work 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce literacy and numeracy.

What We Look For:

• Previous experience supporting children in an educational, childcare, nursery, or community setting.
• A warm, patient, and encouraging approach with strong communication skills.
• Good standards of literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths preferred).
• An adaptable, proactive attitude with the ability to step into different primary classrooms with confidence.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
