Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in Stamford and surrounding areas. Choose day-to-day cover or longer placements, working with experienced class teachers to foster a positive learning environment.

You will support literacy and numeracy, help pupils build confidence, and assist with SEND needs. DBS checks and strong communication are preferred, with competitive weekly pay on offer.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children in an educational, childcare, nursery, or community setting.
• A warm, patient, and encouraging approach with strong communication skills.
• Good standards of literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths preferred).
• An adaptable, proactive attitude with the ability to step into different primary classrooms with confidence.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).

• Provide support to class teachers in preparing resources, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils to reinforce literacy, numeracy, and core curriculum tasks.

• Assist pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by tailoring learning activities to suit their individual learning styles.
• Support classroom management and encourage positive behaviour in line with school policies.
• Assist with supervision during break times, lunchtimes, and school trips as needed.
