The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support, help the child access learning activities, support communication and independence, and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.

The position is 5 days per week, 8:30am-3:45pm, and is expected to be a long-term role, subject to funding being confirmed and continuing.
We are looking for a patient, caring and experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident providing individual support to a young child with significant additional needs.
Due to the location of the school, applicants must have access to their own car and be able to drive to the setting.
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a 4-year-old child
Supporting a child with severe learning difficulties
Helping the pupil access appropriate learning activities throughout the school day
Supporting communication, interaction and engagement
Encouraging independence and helping the child develop appropriate skills
Providing a consistent, nurturing and structured approach
Supporting the child's emotional, social and educational development
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals
Following individual support plans and strategies
Providing consistent support 5 days per week
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential
Previous experience working within a UK school or education setting
Experience supporting children with severe learning difficulties or significant SEND is highly desirable
Previous 1:1 experience would be advantageous
Patient, caring, resilient and able to provide consistent support
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable and able to commit to 5 days per week
Must be able to drive and have access to a car due to the school's location
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
