Job summary

Premier Education is recruiting an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a long-term 1:1 support role with an EYFS child with severe learning difficulties at a school near Chapel-en-le-Frith in the High Peak. The position is five days per week, 8:30am-3:45pm, and is subject to funding.

The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support, help the child access learning activities, support communication and independence, and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
  • Experience in UK school/education setting.
  • Experience with severe learning difficulties or SEND desirable.
  • Must be able to drive to the school's location.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a 4-year-old child.
  • Support a child with severe learning difficulties.
  • Help the pupil access learning activities throughout the school day.
  • Support communication, interaction and engagement.
  • Encourage independence and skills development.
  • Follow individual support plans and strategies.
  • Work with the class teacher, SENCO and professionals.
  • Provide consistent 5 days per week support.
