Job summary

Flourish Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 class in Cannock. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, engaging learning environment and help deliver targeted support in core subjects.

The role requires KS1 knowledge, Level 2/3 qualification, DBS on Update Service or issued within the last 12 months, and recent UK school experience. Hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with the potential for temp-to-perm.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Key Stage 1 (KS1) curriculum.
• Experience as Teaching Assistant or LSA in nurseries or primary schools.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in a Year 2 class to deliver learning activities.
• Provide small-group and 1:1 interventions to boost core subjects.
• Assist with safeguarding and classroom routines to maintain a positive environment.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school based in Cannock. This Teaching Assistant role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment in a Year 2 class.

The school is looking for a candidate with experience providing small-group and 1:1 interventions in core subjects.

This role will start as soon as possible and continue until December 2026. The working hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. There is also the potential for a temp-to-perm position for the right candidate.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant Role:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
• Have good curriculum knowledge of Key Stage 1 (KS1).
• Have experience working in nurseries or primary schools as a Teaching Assistant or LSA.
• Have a DBS registered on the Update Service or one that was issued within the last 12 months.
• Be able to provide a minimum of two excellent references.
• Have recent UK school-based experience.
