Job summary

Flourish Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with ADHD in a two-form-entry primary school in Telford.

The role is part-time, Tuesday to Thursday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm, starting October 2026 and running until April 2027. A competitive daily rate (£90–£100) plus pension contributions and holiday pay is offered, with safeguarding training and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
• Have good knowledge and experience of working with SEND.
• Have experience working in nurseries or primary schools as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
• Hold a DBS on the Update Service or have one issued within the last 12 months.
• Be able to provide a minimum of two excellent references.
• Have recent UK school-based experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with ADHD and challenging behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with the pupil and class, supporting learning and behaviour management.
• Implement tailored support strategies to meet the child’s individual needs.
• Work with teachers to monitor progress and adapt support as required.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a two-form-entry, “Good”-rated primary school in Telford.

This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 2 who has ADHD and challenging behaviour. The school is seeking a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships, implement effective behaviour management strategies, and provide consistent, tailored support to meet the child’s individual needs.

The position is part-time, starting in October 2026 and continuing until April 2027. The working hours are Tuesday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Required Skills and Experience

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
• Have good knowledge and experience of working with SEND.
• Have experience working in nurseries or primary schools as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
• Hold a DBS on the Update Service or have one that was issued within the last 12 months.
