Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective learning activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them to access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence.
- Work with students across a range of abilities, adapting support to meet individual learning needs where appropriate.
- Assist students with literacy, numeracy, communication, and other areas of their academic development.
- Support students who may have additional learning needs, including SEND, helping them to engage positively with their learning.
- Encourage students to develop their confidence, independence, social skills, and positive attitudes towards learning.
- Help create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, curiosity, and respect.
- Provide appropriate pastoral and emotional support to students, helping to promote their wellbeing and engagement in school.
- Monitor and provide feedback on students' progress, behaviour, and engagement, communicating any concerns to the class teacher or relevant staff.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school team to support student progress and wellbeing.
- Assist with classroom preparation, displays, resources, and other duties that contribute to an effective learning environment.
- Support students during break times, lunchtimes, school activities, trips, and other wider school initiatives where required.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
