Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking Teaching Assistants for a welcoming school in Bury (BL9). You will support students aged 11–18, helping them engage with lessons and participate in a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

The role is full-time, temporary, starting immediately and lasting until July 2027, with hours 8:30am–4:00pm. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree and/or TA experience and valid safeguarding training.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a 2:2 degree or above.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or with young people is desirable.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training preferred (within last 12 months).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils aged 11–18 in learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and a conducive learning environment.
• Assist teachers with classroom preparation and supervision.

We are working with a welcoming and supportive school in Bury (BL9) that is looking to appoint five Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and support students aged 11-18 in achieving their full potential. The successful candidates will play a key role in helping pupils engage with their learning, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Recent Graduate with a 2:2 degree or above, or


• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, or


• Experience working with young people through coaching, mentoring, tutoring, youth work, sports, or similar settings


• Previous experience working within a UK school is desirable


• Up-to-date Safeguarding Training issued within the last 12 months (desirable)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK


• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application


• Provide two professional references related to working with children or young people
