Moat Farm Infant School is seeking a dedicated Teaching and Learning Practitioner (Grade 6) to join the Reception team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. The role emphasises strong EYFS knowledge, phonics instruction, and nurturing approaches to early years learning.

The successful candidate will support play-based learning both indoors and outdoors, foster emotional development, and collaborate with the class teacher to deliver high-quality teaching.

• Support young children to manage emotions and develop behaviour for learning in school.
• Experience or knowledge of SEMH and SEN behaviours with de-escalation strategies.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, friendly and adaptable in the role.
• Knowledge of Little Wandle phonics programme preferred; training offered.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Reception.
• Support play-based learning and development across indoor and outdoor environments.
• Promote early language development and phonics using Little Wandle and Talk Boost tools.
• Monitor and support children's emotional regulation and behaviour for learning.
• Provide nurturing relationships to support SEMH/SEN needs and implement de-escalation techniques.

We are seeking to appoint a fixed term maternity cover Level 3/Grade 6 Teaching and Learning Practitioner to join our dynamic Reception team. The role would suit a dedicated, flexible and enthusiastic Early Years practitioner who has a strong commitment to providing excellent education and nurturing environments. Our school has a reputation for excellence in early years education. This is a wonderful opportunity to join our reception team.

Candidates should have the following qualities and experience:

Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS) and child development.

Able to make a positive difference to children’s lives and develop strong nurturing relationships with children.

An approved Early Years qualification as defined by the Department for Education as meeting the criteria set out in the Early Years Qualification Requirements and Standards document (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-qualification-requirements-and-standards)

Able to offer high quality support for play to our children, both indoors and outdoors, encouraging independence and a love of learning.

• An ability to support young children to manage their emotions and develop their behaviour for learning in school.
• Experience of supporting SEMH and SEN behaviours in young children, utilising a range of de-escalation strategies in a developmental way.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, friendly and adaptable in the role.
• Experience or knowledge of the Little Wandle phonics programme is preferable, although training will be offered.
• An ability to teach Little Wandle phonics, Early Years Talk Boost, use the wellcomm screen toolkit and promote early language development.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning and play experiences.
