Job summary

Moat Farm Infant School is seeking a fixed term maternity cover for a Teaching and Learning Practitioner (Grade 6) in the Reception class. The role is 32.5 hours per week, 8:20–3:35, term-time only, with salary range £29,542–£32,046 FTE.

The post requires an approved EYFS qualification and a strong commitment to early years education. The successful candidate will support high-quality teaching, play, and language development, including Little Wandle phonics, with opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
• Ability to support emotional development and positive behaviour.
• An approved Early Years qualification as defined by the Department for Education.
• Training offered for Little Wandle phonics and related programmes.
• Ability to teach Little Wandle phonics and support early language development.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Support play indoors and outdoors, promoting independence and a love of learning.
• Help children manage emotions and develop behaviour for learning.
• Support SEMH and SEN behaviours using de-escalation strategies.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
