Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting a SEND Teacher for a specialist school in Bristol. The role is full-time and long-term from September 2026, with potential extension for the right candidate.

You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with ASD, SLD, PMLD and complex needs, supported by a dedicated team of staff. Requirements include QTS and experience with SEND, plus strong communication, planning and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with support staff to ensure pupils receive encouragement and support to succeed.
• Maintain strong behaviour management and positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.

The successful SEND Teacher will deliver exciting, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with ASD, SLD, PMLD and complex learning needs, using practical, creative and sensory-based teaching approaches while working closely with a dedicated team of support staff to ensure every pupil receives the encouragement and support they need to succeed.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS
• Experience teaching or supporting children and young people with SEND, including ASD, SLD, PMLD or complex learning difficulties
• The ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
• Strong classroom management skills and an understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
• A patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve their potential
