Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teacher in Bristol for a full-time, long-term role starting September 2026. The position offers daily rates of £145–£230 and requires QTS with experience of supporting learners with Autism/ASD, SLD, PMLD or similar needs.

The successful candidate will plan differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to complex learning needs and work with a dedicated team to ensure every pupil makes progress in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic SEND Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2026, with the opportunity to continue for the right candidate. The successful SEND Teacher will deliver exciting, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with ASD, SLD, PMLD and complex learning needs, using practical, creative and sensory-based teaching approaches while working closely with a dedicated team of support staff to ensure every pupil receives the encouragement and support they need to succeed.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS
• Experience teaching or supporting children and young people with SEND, including ASD, SLD, PMLD or complex learning difficulties
• The ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging and differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
• Strong classroom management skills and an understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
• A patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve their potential
