Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a qualified Science Teacher to cover multiple Canterbury secondary schools from September until the end of the year, with the view to extending. Plan and deliver Biology, Chemistry and Physics for KS3/KS4, test and report progress, and attend meetings as required.

Ideal candidates hold QTS (or equivalent), have strong subject knowledge across all sciences and can inspire students with engaging lessons and solid behaviour management. UK work rights essential.

• Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Experience teaching Science to KS3/KS4 students.
• DBS Disclosure ( Enhanced ) or willingness to apply for one.

The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across all three Science disciplines - Biology, Chemistry and Physics - to KS3 and KS4 students.
• Create learning experiences that cater to the needs and abilities of all students.
• Attend departmental meetings and parents' evenings when required.
• Monitor and record student progress effectively, providing feedback to support their academic growth and development.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge across Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
• The ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
• Excellent behaviour management skills.
• Experience teaching Science to KS3 and/or KS4 students.
• An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or willingness to apply for one, alongside Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
• A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, where possible.
• The legal right to work in the UK.
