Job description

Fortis Academy is seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher of Science to join our thriving Science department. Whether you specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, we welcome applications from energetic educators eager to ignite a love of learning in the next generation of scientists.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons
  2. Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
  3. Contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular Science activities
  4. Maintain high standards of behaviour, achievement, and discipline
  5. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

Fortis Academy is a large 11-18 academy serving a high-density housing area in Birmingham’s outer suburbs. It is the largest employer in the ward, with over 200 employees, and is part of the North Area Network of schools, one of six regions in the city. The setting is split into a Foundation Academy and a Senior Academy.
