Job summary

Harlow College is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher Electrical & Multi-Skills to teach level 1 electrical and contribute to multi-trade training up to level 2. No teaching qualification is required initially; support will be provided to gain one.

The role is full-time and based in Harlow with a strong emphasis on engaging practical and theory-based learning. You’ll join a dynamic construction team, delivering high-quality sessions, staying current with industry trends, and promoting an inclusive

Qualifications

• Must have teaching experience or be willing to train.
• Assessor A1 and/or Verifier V1 desirable or be willing to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver theory and practical lessons for level 1 electrical students and multi-skills (level 2).
• Prepare, plan and deliver engaging learning sessions.
• Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on training to develop industry-ready skills.
• Assess student performance, track progress and give constructive feedback.
• Support individual learning needs and promote an inclusive learning environment.

Our Construction team is expanding, and we are now seeking an enthusiastic tradesperson who also brings electrical and multi trade skills to support a broad and engaging curriculum.

Teacher Electrical & Multi-Skills

Salary: qualified* up to £44,260, FTE

Unqualified up to £35,063 per annum FTE

We are looking for a passionate and skilled professional to teach electrical to fulltime level 1 students, while also delivering elements of multi trade training (up to level 2) where required.

You do not need a teaching qualification to work in Further Education, just a passion to educate tomorrow’s workforce. We will support the successful applicant to gain their teaching qualification whilst they work at no cost! **.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging theory and practical lessons for level 1 electrical students and contribute to Multi Skills provision (e.g., basic carpentry, tiling, plastering, or general construction).
• Prepare, plan, and deliver learning sessions that motivate and challenge learners of all abilities.
• Provide practical demonstrations and hands on training to develop learners’ industry ready skills.
• Assess student performance, track progress, and provide constructive feedback.
• Support individual learning needs and help remove barriers to learning.
• Create an inclusive learning environment that promotes success and independence.
• Stay current with industry trends, developments, and best practice.

We would love to meet with you if you have;

• Assessor qualification (A1) and/or Verifier qualification (V1) or are willing to work towards this
• Industry experience within the construction trades to include electrical at a foundation level
• Experience teaching or training others
• Level 4 or above teaching qualification or are willing to work towards this
• GCSE Maths & English at a grade C or above or equivalent
