Job summary

Percy Hedley School part of the Percy Hedley Foundation in the Newcastle upon Tyne area is seeking a Class Teacher to join a Key Stage 3 class. The post involves delivering a primary-style curriculum to pupils with a range of physical and communication needs, in a trans-disciplinary team.

This fixed-term maternity cover runs for one year from January 2027, with opportunities for career development and a robust training programme within school and across the Foundation.

Job description

Teachers, therapists and special/learning support assistants work together in trans-disciplinary teams to meet the individual needs of every pupil. The Role

We are seeking a Class Teacher to work within our Formal Pathway. The successful candidate will teach a Key Stage 3 class accessing a primary-style curriculum. Pupils in the class have a range of physical abilities and communication needs and use a variety of communication methods.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover position for one year, commencing in January 2027.
