Job summary

Tameside College in Ashton-Under-Lyne invites applications for a full-time permanent Teacher in Electrical Installation. You’ll plan, deliver and develop teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles to support learners toward strong outcomes.

You’ll need Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy and Level 3 Electrical Installation qualifications, plus a Level 4 teaching qualification or equivalence with evidence of CPD.

Qualifications

  • Literacy and Numeracy to Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification.
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification or equivalent within 3 years.
  • Inclusion of IQA/A1/V1 and CPD evidence.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and develop teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching and curriculum development to meet learner needs and assess progress.
  • May be required to work up to two evenings weekly; evening hours deducted as needed.
  • Support learners in work experience and devise assessment processes against personalised targets.

What you’ll need
  • Enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated with Literacy and Numeracy to at least a Level 2, candidates must be qualified to least a Level 3 in Electrical Installation Engineer.
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification: Certificate in Education/ PGCE/Bachelor of Education or required to achieve Level 5 Diploma (DTLLS) or equivalent within 3 years of appointment, relevant assessment qualifications - IQA/A1/V1 and evidence of current Continuous Professional Development.
Here’s the standard bit
  • You’ll be responsible for planning, delivering and developing teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles.
  • Taking responsibility for your quality of teaching and related curriculum development that meet learner needs, whilst assessing learners progress in College or on work experience and devise assessment processes against highly personalised progress targets.
  • As we're a college which provides adult education, there's a possibility that you may be asked to work for up to two evenings weekly.
  • Any hours worked during evening sessions will be deducted weekly from normal working hours according to the needs of the business.
