Job summary

DJH is seeking a Tax Trainee apprentice in Halesowen to join our Early Careers team. You’ll work with the Tax team to learn and provide client advice in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

You will complete fully funded training, develop strong tax and accounting skills, and contribute to the delivery of client services while growing your career with a leading UK practice.

Qualifications

• Excellent academic background with GCSEs and A Levels.
• Ability to build relationships and deliver service.
• Proactive, fast-paced learner with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and review of personal tax computations and data entry.
• Support submission of P11D forms and employer compliance tasks.
• Manage client and HMRC correspondence with timely communication.
• Maintain records and track key deadlines for tax administration.
• Assist with accounts preparation for sole traders and compliance standards.
• Support CIS and PAYE matters (excluding payroll processing).
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks to support tax and accounts team.

As a Tax Trainee you’ll be fully immersed with our experienced Tax team, learning to provide great advice to clients. Life will be fast paced, engaging, creative and rewarding.

It’s a great opportunity to develop and progress within a forward-thinking and fast-paced firm. You’ll be:

• Assisting the team with the preparation and review of personal tax computations, including data entry and drafting self-assessment tax returns
• Supporting with the preparation and submission of P11D forms and related employer compliance tasks
• Managing client and HMRC correspondence, ensuring timely and professional communication
• Providing support with general tax administration duties, including maintaining accurate records and tracking key deadlines
• Assisting with accounts preparation for sole traders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Supporting with CIS and PAYE matters, excluding day-to-day payroll processing
• Undertaking ad-hoc tasks as required to support the wider tax and accounts team
