Job summary

DJH in Bury is offering a Tax Trainee apprenticeship within our Early Careers team. You’ll learn in a busy tax department, assisting with personal tax computations, P11D forms, client correspondence, and accounts preparation for sole traders in a fast-paced environment.

This is an ideal entry path into professional accounting with fully funded study support, tailored learning, and clear progression opportunities in a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Strong academic record with GCSEs including Maths and English at high grades.
• Interest in accountancy with appetite to learn tax concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal tax computations and data entry.
• Support preparation and submission of P11D forms and compliance tasks.
• Manage client and HMRC correspondence with timely communication.

As a Tax Trainee you’ll be fully immersed with our experienced Tax team, learning to provide great advice to clients. Life will be fast paced, engaging, creative and rewarding.

It’s a great opportunity to develop and progress within a forward-thinking and fast-paced firm. You’ll be:

• Assisting the team with the preparation and review of personal tax computations, including data entry and drafting self-assessment tax returns
• Supporting with the preparation and submission of P11D forms and related employer compliance tasks
• Managing client and HMRC correspondence, ensuring timely and professional communication
• Providing support with general tax administration duties, including maintaining accurate records and tracking key deadlines
• Assisting with accounts preparation for sole traders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Supporting with CIS and PAYE matters, excluding day-to-day payroll processing
• Undertaking ad-hoc tasks as required to support the wider tax and accounts team

• Have an excellent academic background, with 5 GCSEs at a minimum level 5 and above, with a level 6 or above in both Maths and English and on track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C or above
