Job summary

Lanes Group Ltd is seeking a vacuum tanker operator based in Liverton to independently operate a vacuum tanker and collect, transport, and dispose of non-hazardous liquid waste. You will support drainage projects, move treated and untreated waste, and maintain accurate electronic records while adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Full training will be provided. The role is 47.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:30–17:00, with overtime paid at time and a quarter on weekdays

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 license with ≤6 penalty points.
• CPC valid (Desirable).
• Full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Independently driving and operating a vacuum tanker to transport non-hazardous liquids from sites to disposal facilities.
• Support drainage and remediation projects as needed.
• Move treated and untreated waste and assist with remedial works.
• Liaise with customers and update electronic records.
• Perform daily vehicle and jetting equipment checks and report safety concerns.

Department: Drainage/Depot Network

consists of a strategically located depot network across the UK, spanning from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Enabling rapid response to customer requirements and providing round-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year.

Purpose of the role:

To independently operate a vacuum tanker and carry out the safe and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of non-hazardous liquid waste. The role involves supporting drainage and remediation projects, moving treated and untreated waste products, and delivering a high standard of service to customers. The post holder is responsible for maintaining accurate electronic records, conducting daily vehicle and jetting equipment inspections, reporting any safety concerns, and ensuring all work is completed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Hours:

47.5 per week, Mon - Fri 07:30- 17:00

Hourly Rate:

£15.00 - £16.00 per hour.

Overtime:

Paid at time and a quarter weekdays, time and a half weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently driving and operating a vacuum tanker, the work incorporates tankering various non-hazardous liquids from sites to disposal facilities
• Work Projects will include any drainage related issues
• Moving treated and untreated waste product, assisting with remedial works
• Liaising with customers
• Updating electronical records
• Ensuring safety issues are reported
• Vehicle and Jetting Equipment checks
• A phone will outline the navigation for the routes and jobs whilst working.

Key Requirements

Skills & Experience:

• HGV class 2 driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points

Desirable:

• Valid in date CPC
• Experience with working with tankers
