Lanes Group Ltd in Grindley is recruiting for a hands-on Tankering North team member on a permanent, on-site basis. You will operate jetting and vacuumation units as part of a two-person crew and support CCTV investigations across the network. You will maintain records on a company tablet, conduct vehicle checks, and follow safety procedures.
The role requires a valid UK driving license; CPC is desirable. Shift pattern is 4 on/4 off, approx. 47.5 hours per week, with a salary of £13.50 per hour.

Tankering North forms a key part of Lanes Group's wastewater and environmental services offering, providing specialist liquid waste management, tankering, jet-vac, and emergency response services across Northern England and Scotland. Operating from strategically located depots within the wider Lanes network, the division supports utility companies, industrial customers, local authorities, facilities management providers, and commercial businesses with both planned and reactive services.
The team utilises a fleet of high-performance vacuum tankers and jet vac units capable of handling hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste, sludge, slurry, floodwater, and wastewater. Services range from routine tank emptying and interceptor cleaning through to large-scale emergency spill response and flood relief operations, delivered on a 24/7, 365-day basis.
Purpose of the role:
Working on a variety of different reactive contracts, you will be working closely with a HGV driver to clean along the highways, up and down the country.
You will be assisting operatives to conduct work accordingly, so a hands on approach is needed due to the manual nature of the work. You will be responsible for using a company tablet on a daily basis to keep accurate records of jobs and documentation.
