Lanes Group plc in Cardiff is hiring a Vacuum Tanker Operator to independently drive a vacuum tanker and carry out safe collection, transportation, and disposal of non-hazardous liquid waste across Wales.
You will support drainage and remediation projects, maintain electronic records, perform vehicle checks, and report safety concerns. The role offers 47.5 hours per week at £15.50 per hour with time- and-a-quarter weekday overtime and time-and-a-half weekends; full training provided.

Tankering North forms a key part of Lanes Group's wastewater and environmental services offering, providing specialist liquid waste management, tankering, jet-vac, and emergency response services across Northern England and Scotland. Operating from strategically located depots within the wider Lanes network, the division supports utility companies, industrial customers, local authorities, facilities management providers, and commercial businesses with both planned and reactive services.
The team utilises a fleet of high-performance vacuum tankers and jet vac units capable of handling hazardous and non-hazardous liquid waste, sludge, slurry, floodwater, and wastewater. Services range from routine tank emptying and interceptor cleaning through to large-scale emergency spill response and flood relief operations, delivered on a 24/7, 365-day basis.
To independently operate a vacuum tanker and carry out the safe and efficient collection, transportation, and disposal of non-hazardous liquid waste across Wales. The role involves supporting drainage and remediation projects, moving treated and untreated waste products, and delivering a high standard of service to customers. The post holder is responsible for maintaining accurate electronic records, conducting daily vehicle and jetting equipment inspections, reporting any safety concerns, and ensuring all work is completed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
