Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems is strengthening its Programme Management capability within a technically complex defence environment. We seek experienced Programme Managers to own portfolios of projects and lead the full delivery lifecycle from bids and planning through development, integration and delivery.

You will coordinate engineering, customers, partners and suppliers across the Tactical Communications domain, maintain governance, oversee budgets and risks, and drive successful outcomes

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects within defence, communications, engineering or similarly regulated environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects of medium to high complexity with measurable outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of project/programme governance, planning and control.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of low to medium complexity projects with opportunities to take on more complex programmes as the business grows.
• Manage projects across the full lifecycle from bid and initial planning through development, integration, delivery and close-out.
• Drive successful delivery of complex engineering projects within the Tactical Communications domain.
• Lead cross-functional teams and build relationships with customers, partners, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure delivery to agreed time, cost, quality and performance requirements.
• Maintain programme governance including planning, financial control, risk and opportunity management, reporting and performance metrics.
• Identify and manage programme risks, dependencies and delivery challenges.
• Oversee budgets and supplier performance as part of the wider delivery programme.
• Contribute to bids, shaping deliverables and commercially robust solutions.
