Job summary

Mount Havelock, part of the First Steps Together Group, is a new specialist school in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield opening January 2027. We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the team and support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

You will work closely with teachers to adapt learning, deliver targeted interventions, and help pupils access education with dignity and confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH.
• Understanding of child development and inclusive practice.
• Ability to plan, deliver and review targeted interventions.
• Strong communication with families and colleagues.
• Record-keeping of pupil progress and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Directly support pupils throughout the school day.
• Adapt activities to individual needs with teachers.
• Lead small group interventions and learning programmes.
• Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Contribute to EHCPs, behaviour plans or personalised plans.
