Job summary

Civil Aviation Authority is seeking a Human Factors Specialist (Systems Thinking) to influence HF strategy across programmes, deliver HF training, and collaborate with stakeholders. You will develop and apply systems thinking, review information for safety, and support Just Culture and training for internal and external audiences; BPSS clearance is required.

The role emphasizes cross‑industry collaboration, engaging with internal teams and external partners to advance human factors practices

Qualifications

• Degree or professional level qualification in HF or related field
• Experience in a safety critical industry in an HF related role
• Knowledge of the aviation operating environment
• Experience of System Safety Assessment theory and practical application such as STAMP/STPA
• Good communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to influence change within mixed discipline teams and work autonomously

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the HF strategy and action plan with internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and deliver HF training including Just Culture training
• Promote systems thinking across CAA business areas and ensure HF content is current on external sites
• Provide HF expertise for projects and programmes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Review information critically to meet needs of different audiences
• Support HF compliance and assurance and contribute to safety culture
