Job summary

Barnsley Council is seeking a Systems Support Specialist to provide technical expertise for business-critical applications, oversee maintenance and upgrades, and lead on system improvements. You will support P1 incidents, drive enhancements, and mentor junior staff while embracing AI technologies in a hybrid workplace.

The role includes line management of System Support Officers, with a 37-hour week and flexibility in start times. Prior experience in local government systems is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Relevant Level 5 qualification.
• Extensive experience supporting business-critical applications including P1 incidents.
• Experience in local government or public sector systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to support business-critical applications.
• Provide technical leadership across all aspects of these systems.
• Respond to P1 incidents and service requests promptly.
• Oversee application upgrades, testing & acceptance activities.
