Folkestone & Hythe District Council is seeking a System Support Officer on a part-time basis (21 hours per week, Monday–Friday). The role supports Revenues, Benefits, Housing and related services, ensuring systems run smoothly, securely and with minimal downtime.
You will monitor system jobs, interfaces and reconciliations, resolve issues, and work with internal teams and suppliers. Hybrid position with at least one day on-site weekly at the Civic Centre in Folkestone.

As a System Support Officer, you will support the day‑to‑day operation of the council’s key business‑critical systems across Revenues, Benefits, Housing and related services. Working within the Digital Services team, you will ensure systems run smoothly, securely and efficiently, with minimal downtime.
You will manage and monitor system jobs, interfaces and reconciliations, resolve system issues, and work closely with internal teams and external software suppliers. The role includes testing and implementing system upgrades, legislative changes and new releases, often to tight deadlines, ensuring systems continue to meet service and statutory requirements.
You will also produce reports and management information using system reporting and query tools, and play an active role in identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase automation and support the council’s digital transformation objectives.
You will play a key role in deploying updates that affect major financial flows and support essential council functions.
This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum on‑site presence of one day per week at the Civic Centre offices in Folkestone.
