Job summary

Mansfield District Council is recruiting a Systems Development Officer to support and develop the software systems underpinning Revenues and Benefits services.

Based at Mansfield - Civic Centre, this full-time permanent role is 37 hours per week, with hybrid/homeworking and a competitive salary £28,598 - £33,699 per annum (pay award pending).

You will maintain, test and operate revenue and benefits software, work with suppliers, and help staff across Council Tax, Housing Benefit and NNDR.

Qualifications

  • Experience with software systems in Revenues and Benefits.
  • Experience with document management systems.
  • Strong ICT skills and ability to analyse information.

Job description

Mansfield District Council have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Development Officer to join the team based in Mansfield - Civic Centre. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis (37 hours per week) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,598 - £33,699 per annum (pay award pending).

We re looking for a Systems Development Officer to join our Systems Administration Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting and developing the systems that underpin the delivery of essential Revenues and Benefits services.

As a Systems Development Officer, you will provide technical support for the maintenance, testing and day-to-day operation of a range of software applications used across Revenues and Benefits services. You will help ensure our systems run efficiently and accurately while supporting staff across the service.

Working closely with the Systems Team Leader, service colleagues, software suppliers and third-party providers, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality services across areas such as Council Tax, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction and Business Rates (NNDR).

The successful candidate will be technically capable and customer-focused, with strong ICT skills and experience of working with specialist software systems, including document management systems, ideally within a Revenues, Benefits or similar service environment. You'll be a confident problem-solver with excellent analytical abilities, capable of understanding and supporting information systems while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.

You should be committed to delivering excellent customer service, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
