TXM Recruit is working exclusively with a rail manufacturing and maintenance business that is looking for 2 x System Technicians to assist with the introduction of a new locomotive fleet.

About the Role

Based out of Leicester, with frequent travel within a 4-hour radius around Leicester as part of the shift. Occasional UK-wide travel may also be required.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a shift pattern that includes days, nights, and weekends (shift TBD).
  • Extensive travel as part of the training program, including UK sites and European travel.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship required.
  • Full Sentinel medical and D+A required.
  • Candidates must be able to work trackside on mainline railway tracks.
  • Interview process involves two stages: initial interview via Teams, followed by a site visit and practical test.

Salary starts at £45,000 and rises to £48,000, with a 20% shift allowance applicable from the start of employment.

  • Experience in passenger or rail freight sectors is essential.
  • An electrical bias is preferred, with a 70% electrical and 30% mechanical focus being ideal.
