Job summary

London Borough of Hackney seeks an outstanding System Leader for School Improvement to drive targeted peer support and build lasting capacity across Hackney’s family of schools. You will lead curricular innovations, coach school leaders, and champion equity and anti-racism.

You will work under the guidance of an Education Improvement Adviser, partnering with a network of educational leaders to deliver high-impact, sustainable improvements and inclusive, high-quality learning environments for all

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in an Outstanding or rapidly improving school setting.
• Deep expertise in Teaching and Learning, Curriculum, or Assessment, with knowledge of educational technology and AI integration.
• Strong coaching, diagnostic and leadership development skills.
• Commitment to anti-racism, equity and inclusion in line with Hackney’s standards.
• QTS, degree (or equivalent) and postgraduate qualifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted peer support through time-limited interventions in partner schools focusing on teaching, curriculum, assessment and ethical AI use.
• Coach and build sustainable capacity by mentoring school leaders and staff and creating cross-school networks.
• Champion inclusion and equity, embedding anti-racist practice and prioritising outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and SEND.
• Collaborate with Education Improvement Advisers to set goals, monitor progress, and evaluate value for money.
• Lead professional learning: design and deliver high-level development and bespoke training for middle leaders and teachers.
• Work with the integrated SEND team to coordinate support and ensure high standards of provision.
